The Latest News on Mulberry Marketplace

MESA, Arizona ― August 29, 2016 ― If Brown Group builds it, they will come.

Scottsdale-based Brown Group has built 35 successful shopping centers, and they hit it out of the park with their latest project Mulberry Marketplace. Named for the nearby Mulberry residential development, Mulberry Marketplace commands 17.70 acres  at the corner of Guadalupe and Signal Butte roads in Mesa, Arizona.

Mulberry Marketplace is anchored by a 124,267-square-feet Fry's Marketplace store. With a grand opening on June 24, it's the first new Fry's Marketplace store since 2011, employing nearly 350 associates. Naturally, other Mulberry Marketplace tenants benefit from the traffic drawn by Fry’s, which is open seven days a week from 5 am to 11 pm.

Mulberry Marketplace offers 710 parking spaces and a diverse group of retail and service providers, including:

·      Angel Touch Nails, September opening.

·      Great Clips Salon, September opening.

·      Signal Butte Animal Hospital & Grooming, November opening.

·      A 3,237-square-feet Burger King with drive-thru, December opening or first quarter of 2017.

·      A 3,990-square-feet Bank of America with two drive-thru lanes, mid 2017 opening.

·      Papa Murphy's Pizza    

Mulberry Marketplace is the third Fry’s-anchored center developed by Brown Group in the last five years. The other two being the Fortuna Commons shopping center in Yuma, Arizona, and Sundome Crossing in Sun City West, Arizona.

Of the current state of retail development, Brown Group Founder Gary W. Brown says, "The Phoenix retail market is undergoing moderate yet cautious growth. Certainly better than the development activity during the Great Recession, but far from the hyper growth experienced during the early 2000s." Therefore, Brown Group will continue to pursue new retail development within realistic housing growth projections, and “in-fill” development, i.ethe use of land within a built-up area for further construction, especially as part of a community redevelopment.
